About nine years ago, I returned to Yakima after spending 45 years in Kirkland, WA. My move was prompted by a desire to care for my mother, who, at 94 years old, is still incredibly sharp, and to be closer to my family.
For much of my life in Kirkland, exercise was a cornerstone of my routine. I spent countless hours in gyms, cycling, hiking, and walking outdoors. At the gym, I worked extensively with a variety of personal trainers who not only helped me stay fit but also became lifelong friends. When I returned to Yakima, I knew I wanted to continue this practice.
It didn’t take long before I found Jamin Frank, then a 20-year-old trainer with an impressive dedication to his craft. Jamin’s passion for personal training was evident in the way he immersed himself in research about anatomy, muscle groups, injury recovery, and specialized training for aging clients. It wasn’t just a job for Jamin—it was his life’s purpose.
When we first met, Jamin asked me about my goals. I told him I wanted to maintain and improve my physical health. He smiled and said, “I’ll assemble a variety of exercises that will maintain the health and strength of your entire body. We’ll also focus on your eating habits and nutritional needs. But remember, Roy, the bulk of the work is yours.”
I smiled, and our journey began.
Jamin has kept his promise. Over the years, his thoughtful and targeted approach to training has helped me stay strong and healthy. Today, on my 69th birthday, I can honestly say I feel like I’m in my early 40s. I owe much of that to Jamin’s expertise, encouragement, and commitment.
What’s more, I’ve watched Jamin work with many clients, tailoring his approach to each person’s unique needs and goals. His care and dedication are truly unmatched.
Thank you, Jamin, for being such a positive force in my life.
