Every athlete has a starting point. For Gianna Doucette, it was three years ago when she walked into YSP unsure of how strong or fast she could become — but fully committed to putting in the work.
Now, she’s entering her freshman year as a college soccer player at Central Washington University, and according to Coach Jamin:
“From all my years coaching, Gigi is the fastest girl I’ve ever worked with. I’ve got her proclaimed as the fastest girl in Yakima—until someone proves me wrong.”
But it didn’t start that way.
Gianna wasn’t always the athlete you see today. She built this version of herself through consistent effort, season after season, showing up when others slowed down, and pushing herself when most would coast.
Consistency Beats Talent
Gianna trained through soccer season, off-season, and summer. And while other athletes took breaks, she kept stacking wins — small improvements that compounded over time.
She got stronger. She got faster. She became more confident.
At YSP, it’s not just about the workouts — it’s about creating an environment that pulls more out of you. As Gianna puts it:
“Even when the workouts aren’t fun, they make it fun. That’s what makes YSP different.”
Why Year-Round Training Matters
Too many parents still believe training should only happen in the “off-season.” But that approach kills momentum. Athletes lose strength. They lose speed. They lose progress.
Gianna is proof that when you train year-round, with the right people and the right program, you don’t just maintain — you evolve.
You don’t luck into a college scholarship. You don’t wake up one day and become explosive, fast, and confident. You build it. Day by day. Rep by rep.
Give Your Athlete the Opportunity to Grow
YSP isn’t just for the top-tier athletes. It’s for any young athlete who’s hungry to get better — just like Gianna was when she started.
If your kid has big goals, the best thing you can do is support their growth year-round. We’re here to guide that process every step of the way.
